No shortcuts to becoming brave

Poetic Dan

No matter how small or big the fear, it's real to you, and that's all that's here.

Although it's no place to live, times on your side and always ready to commit.

Emotions will rise and fade, with no shortcuts to becoming brave

Many tracks can lead you astray, with no mistakes, only lessons along the way.

Those that matter will always say, "I knew you would get there one of these days."

It is so nice to see you out of the comfort cave. Thank you for lighting the way.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This was inspired by my son who I was unable to go pick up due to work, got the train by his self down to me. If you know of Clapham Junction then you'll know it can be an overwhelming place. So proud of him for passing his fear and to every dog that helps show that fear is no place to live, don't hold yourself back from what this world has to give! Much peace and respect

Fear can make us hide .. can’t it , and can hold us back but sometimes we can’t help how we feel .. it’s brave to be with that anxiety / fear and do things anyway

    A good writing Dan

    Especially like these lines

Those that matter will always say, "I knew you would get there one of these days."

That last verse is lovely ))

I think we all need those positive words and others believing in us

    • Poetic Dan

That we do my friend and I'm a strong believer on you can do anything you set your mind to. Those that truly love us would never say you "you can't" they say "you can't, yet!" Time and support is all anything needs to grow.

So spread those wings and fly my friend. You are stronger than you think!

yeah, Clapham can be a maze
and that was before they made it
the Bus capital of the world
      lol
a lovely read, and what a an elegant dog in your pic
so attentive and calm, that confidence
only a k-9 can exude, with ease
      lol
      thanks for sharing, brother
hope you have a lovely weekend

Yes. The worst is the lack of empathy of those running through the maze! But life is no different and learning when self Preservation comes into play is something only experience can bring!

The dog is a Spanish rescue staying for 2 weeks and such a beautiful energy. Definitely testing my ability but I do love helping street dogs break free of their fight or flight!

        Keep shining bright my friend
Always appreciate your time and support

The busiest train station in the country, is it? Or in England, anyway. And people in all directions.
        Is your son agoraphobic?

        • Poetic Dan

Up to 2000 trains a day. And I guess you could say he is but he's on the spectrum for autism and adhd but aren't we all a bit.

Those woofers will help us overcome fears of travel, etc. They know what to do! 🙂

          • Poetic Dan

Many times just the fear of being alone.
            Always a pleasure my friend

Wonderful words Dan, your son sounds like a wonderful person - as is his father.
