Tune: Trentham
('Welcome sweet day of rest'
= 'Breath on me, breath of God')
Psalm 57 v.1-5
*******
Be merciful to me
O God, even to me
For my soul trusts in you, I will
Make you my refuge still
In shadow of your wings
I stay, there my soul sings
Until these troubles be o'er past
Enemies from me cast
I will call to God, He
Most high o'er all things be
he performs all things for me, He
Shall save me here, so be
Save me from the reproach
Of those who my peace broach
They that trouble me, God shall send
Mery, truth, me defend
Though my soul midst lions
Feels, and midst battle sons
Still be you exalted, God be
Above earth your glory
