Meghaltam-I am dead

Hailey Black

Meghaltam.

Vagy ez megint csak álom?

Magam sem tudom már

Mit tetem? vagy mit nem?

Hol vagyok? vagy hol nem?

Várj ,hallod? én hallom.

Mi ez mi íly szépen szól

Zene,amelyet annyiszor

A kocsidba lejátszol

Vagy vörösbegy énekel,

Azon,a kis ablakon?

Nem, sikoly lesz az

Egy kínszenves üvöltés

Meghaltam.

Vagy ez megint csak álom?

Magam sem tudom már.

“Ébredj, ébredj, ébredj fel !

Kérlek ne ! ne hadj itt…

Gyere vissza hozzám !”

Menyire egy elcsépelt mondat

Jaj, sokszor hallottad már,

Kedvenc filmben,soridba akár

De ez most ugy-e milyen más?

Hallom hangod halovány

Nézd de sötét lett itten !

S Hideg csend vesz lassan ölébe

Inne felébredni nehéz ám,

Lassan lehetetlen talán.

Meghaltam.

Vagy ez megint csak álom?

Magam sem tudom már.

***

I am dead.

Or is it just another dream?

I don't know either, Anymore.

What am I doing?. Or not doing?

Where am I? Or where am I not?

Wait, do you hear it ? I do.

What's that beautiful sound

Music that I've heard so many times

You play in your car

Or a robin sings

Through that little window?

No, it's a scream

An agonizing howl.

I am dead.

Or is it a dream again?

I don't know either, Anymore.

"Wake up, wake up, wake up !

Please don't ! Don't leave me ...

Come back to me!"

What a corny phrase

Oh, you've heard it so many times,

In your favorite movie, in your favorite series

But isn’t it so different now?

I hear your voice faint

Look how dark it's gotten

And a cold silence is slowly taking me in its arms

But it's hard to wake up now

It's becoming impossible.

I am dead.

Or is it a dream again?

I don't know either, Anymore.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I am a half Hungarian half American so I wrote this poem in Hungarian, (I write poems in both languages) and I tried to translate it into English for you to read. Although the poem was written in another language, I hope it is possible to understand, the translated version.
