Reigning Ruler

orchidee

Tune: St Helen

('Lord enthroned in heavenly splendour')

Psalm 97 v.1-7 and v.11-12

*******

The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice

All come, praise Him with one voice

Let multitude of isles be glad

Not remain for always sad

Clouds and darkness they Him surround

There His awesome presence found

Righteousness and judgement they be

Foundation of His throne, see

Heaven be His habitation

Who rules o'er every nation

A fire goes before Him, it burns

Enemies and evil turns

His lightnings the world enlightened

The earth saw, He did them send

The hills like wax did melt when they

Knew His presence in their day

His presence, Lord of the earth whole

His the rule, His the control

Heavens declare His righteousness

He shall favour and us bless

All the people see His glory

Displayed so resplendently

He the only true God, idols

They false gods be, each one falls

Light is sown for the righteous' part

Gladness for the upright's heart

Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous

Give thanks, He does tend to us

Remembering His holiness

Just in judgement, we confess

Thanks Gold. I had the wrong tune name last time - it still played the same tune though. lol.

A true hymn of praise and glory. The rhyme in this one seemed to go so well. I thought I was back in church.

Thanks SB. Dunno why I didn't use the tune earlier. I was fussing about the correct hymn name!

To rule and reign righteously, that is an assurance of better days.

Thanks CB. You got any rain there (stet)?!

          • arqios

Now that is something I gotta check on at least once a day.

Thanks N. Yep - going by the pic I chose. No relation to reigning/raining.
