Tune: St Peter
('My God, accept my heart this day')
John 20 v.11-16
For St Mary Magdalen's Day - July 22.
*********
Mary Magdalen outside tomb
It was an empty room
While weeping, looked therein, did see
Two angels there they be
They said to her, 'Woman, why do
You weep as you us view?'
She said, 'They have taken away
My Lord, He gone this day'
'And I know not where they have laid
Him, nor where His tomb made'
Then when she turned arounds she saw
Jesus alive e'ermore
But she did not know it was He
And He did say, so be
'Woman, why weep you? Whom seek you?'
She was distressed, 'tis true
She thought that He the gardener be
And said, 'Now here, do see
If you have carried Him away
Tell me where you Him lay'
Jesus said to her, 'Mary', she
Turned round surprisingly
Said, 'Master', then she knew He be
Jesus, from death now free

Mary Magdalen has always been my favorite, misunderstood for so long, she never wavered. Such a beautiful poem for her dear Orchi!
Thanks Bella.
A very nice write Orchi. Mary and Jesus had a special relationship as can be told by how predominantly she shows in what is otherwise a very male oriented new testament.
Thanks SB.
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
