Tune: Christchurch
('Now is eternal life')
Revelation 20 parts
*********
Grant, Lord, that as you look
Our names be in your book
Your book of life it be
May you there our names see
Who have believed on Christ your Son
He our Saviour, atoning one
And that we evangel
Rech out, to others tell
Of your gospel that saves
Your love the way it paves
For us to come to God through you
Forgiveness, eternal life new
For may none here be late
To enter the strait gate
And path which to life leads
Though narrow, grant each heeds
That all be writ there in your book
None need be forfeit nor forsook
Safe from the lake of fire
where torments never tire
Where all evil does burn
None penitent e'er turn
Separated from God for e'er
A fate we wish for none to bear
What good deed, what word can
We do for woman, man?
Or child of any age
Throughout history's page?
For none you desire to be lost
Great Shepherd, paid for them the cost
Yet raptures of redeemed
On them has light bright beamed
No death, mourn, tears, or pain
They free from all sins stain
Believers trusting Christ the Lord
He our salvation, living word

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.6.6.6.8.8. Whether a 'burning hell' is literal or not (verse 4) there surely has to be some ultimate reckoning against evil, of justice and judgement, or else evil would win over good.

Indeed Orchi, the reckoning of evil should be meted out in proportion to the offense. Some offenders have an awful lot of meting out coming, and justly deserved.
Thanks Bella. There's the saying 'their day will come.
Erm, a pity some 'redeemed sinners' may get hellfire and damnation type sermons sometimes. Not EVERY week, thank you, as in some places!
Your're absolutely right!
Dear Lord, may our names be written in the BOOK OF LIFE 🙏🙏
MAY we receive the Grace to remain in you till the very end. Amen
Thanks G.
Good one Orchi.
