Tune: Holton Holgate
('Where is this stupendous Stranger?')
Psalm 124 v.7-8
*************
Our soul is escaped as a bird
Sound of freedom's wings now heard
It is of the Lord's salvation
Reaches to every nation
As a bird released from the snare
When the Lord did act, was there
Snare of the fowlers, the trappers
Grace on us the Lord confers
The snare is broken, and we are
Flown away and from it far
And we are escaped, are redeemed
Though entrapped we were it seemed
Our help is in name of the Lord
He is strong, and true His word
He made heaven and earth, all things
To Him praise creation brings

well wot a mighty relief that was 😉
Thanks N. You set any birds free from traps? Or not lately!
I might have rescued a rat, but it had got run over - messy!
Yes, I've finally been released 🤗
Thanks Teddy - you flying?! We got wings? Wish I could fly away from KP. I'm still in the snare. lol.
How beautifully the bird figures into the lessons of the bible. This is such a lovely write dear Orchi, for birds I hold very dear.
Thanks Bella.
Sadly, the author of this hymn went insane, and died at age 50.
Probably heard me singing it - no! the humour's too dark. lol.
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
