Aliens have been visiting they say
At a Congress meeting in U.S of A.
They won’t land on Earth - they’ve taken one look
And buggered off – let us off the hook.
After their survey what caused them to flee?
I’d have done the same if they were me:
The planet’s burning, humans are breeding
Or have been like rabbits while they fight wars……….

I'm so glad to see you here my friend. I read and I chuckled all the way through. If aliens have been monitoring our TV and radio waves, it's hard to imagine they would be at all interested in us, except perhaps as specimens. A friend of mine texted to tell me about the hearings, which I was unaware of, and still am. That tells you how much I pay attention to our congress. With all the problems we have, this is the best they can do? Look forward to seeing you here dear Dave.

Sounds to me that Australian media pays more attention to American politics than many do at home.... Unsurprising in a way - your actual human population has many members who have to expend all their energy and attention in survival at an individual level, no doubt.
BTW I'm backing the Republicans if they manage to sabotage the AUKUS deal....😜
I guess my approach is to pay attention to the important stuff, but it all seems to devolve into party politics all too quickly. Take care my friend!

Rabbits indeed, run at the first sign of trouble, multiply like mad, and expect magic tricks to be pulled out of a hat. I have had rabbit to eat, don't like it much.
