Question of Self

Pop64

When you look in the mirror

Who do you see?

Is it the person you feel you are

Or what others tell you to be?

Do you ever feel good enough?

Or even able to cope?

Do the opinions of others

Diminish your hope?

When the darkness of night

Shades the sunshine of day

Can you be honest with the image

Or do you still look away?

Next time you look in that mirror

Accept the image that you see

Build on the truth in that light

And just allow yourself

To be

A nicely expressed writing)) I especially like the mention of the sunshine

    And the last lines

Build on the truth in that light
    And just allow yourself
    To be

    A good poem

I think mirrors can be difficult to look into when struggling / not feeling so good

Kindly suggesting shows strength of demeanor. Not all possess that grace but even so , not all mannered people can write and convey imperatives gently as you certainly do. Your phrases dance large while the words within wiggle so they can claim separate and special status as they dwell
In the structure they build. t

This is extraordinary dear poet. The flow, rhyme and cadence of each line is incredible, and the message so very profound. Remarkable insight , as well as masterfully crafted!
