Introverted Sage

A role model in all of your right.
With a heart that is dark as the night.
True colors step into the light.
Let me guess, all your life you had to fight.

We all know the way that you play.
Well chosen the words that you say.
If only you knew how the way.
Those games only lengthen your stay.

So walk on with your head held up high.
Life review a long regretful sigh.
It's clear but let's ask yourself why.
It was Love that you chose to deny.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I've never met a family with words more venomous than mine. a sting with every sylable and down right out of line. No.. but seriously. And it's so hard to watch someone you care about choose to verbally(and mentally) destroy a person and with the same mouth say they love them. Realizing they are also coming from a place of pain and have their own healing to go through makes it easier to accept and understand. May we all see ourselves and all of our ways. And try to be our best selves for the remainder of our days.

Nice write. I get it but also think that if I declared in that way it would’ve fit my need and certainty. Whether indecision or dysfunction or miscreance (?) the fact is they left and it won’t be fixed so my fixation pointed toward ends in the circle file of no resource.

      Exactly.
Could be all of the above.
      I chose peace.
      I appreciate your comment!

The worst thing that can happen to a fighter is to get civilized.
