Far, far away in distant lands
in a cave in the middle of a dark forest
deep within the Scottish hills
there lived a dragon
“Aiden”
so grand and magnificent
his fire so strong
it engulfed his very own heart
for, over the hill stood in vein
his true love
she was defined by her gracious beauty
but Aiden, so timid and shy
never told of this
delicate like a leaf
lost within the dungeons of his own heart
so hidden, underground
vulnerable to the outside world
yet for her, he would have fought an entire village
winning her heart after any great battle
alas, for his lack of confidence
he was afraid if he got too close, she’d reject him
eventually he would die alone
in the sea of his own tears
covered in confetti.

Great poem 🙂 like your words . It can be difficult when we are lacking in confidence .. I guess
Awe thank you dear Rose. Lacking confidence can really make a difference in whether we are able to achieve or not and it's not just for love but in every aspect of life too. Thank you darling rose 🌹💖
Good write T.
My poem is 'The old dragon KP'. lol.
It\'s what me old man calls meeee lol as always Mr O thank you 🤗❤️
Mmmm sad ending....but happens all the time. Lack of confidence can make us miss many opportunities. It's better to risk it all...in my opinion. But, I understand we all walk that path differently...and it's a process. Really enjoyed this one! 🐉 🐲
Awe it really does apply in everything in life, I do love Aiden, he has a few other things written on his behalf. Thank you dearest Liz, always a pleasure to know you like my scribbles. 💖 ❣️🤗
Beautifully told and illustrated dear Teddy. I will have fairytale dreams tonight. How weak and helpless the strong can become when it comes to affairs of the heart, for it can be so easily broken. Lighter than air this poem, for it just rises and rises!
Dearest Bella, wow your reviews truly lift my spirits my friend, you seem to see my words at their core, love being my favourite subject I always like to try different things. Thank you so very much for always coming by and sharing your gorgeous words. 💖
Beautiful words Teddy.
Andy

This is a great read
Particularly liked the mention of Scottish hills
Many a dragon in these parts
Clever enjoyable write
I'm a huge fan of Scotland and I am a huge fan of Runrig, as for the dragons I'll say I've visited many parts of the beauty that is Scotland, it was one of the most friendly places on earth. I hope it still is. 💖 Always lovely to see you dear Peto.
Where hearts of olden glory die young
as a fantasy reader
and from spending years
travelling to and from
those most majestic Scottish
hills
this, is just up me poetic creek
if you will..
effortlessly executed dear cherished Poet
(will this be part of your children's story collection?
it could work, would need to give her a name
and add a little depth to her character
otherwise all the ingredients are there)
'but what do i know' lol
Wow, I never ever thought about this going past a poem stage, you give me much to think about dear Mek, maybe you have even inspired a new project. lol 💖 thank you darling friend.
