He dived in with his usual haste
A layer of almost toxic waste
Though bitter he's acquired a taste
Hypnotic femme fatale
A gauntlet run brings many blows
Her handcuffs come with ribbonned bows
She brought him heat the night he froze
Hypnotic femme fatale
She has the spice to keep it cute
Her orchard offers varied fruit
A six inch high stiletto boot
Hypnotic femme fatale
A teller of the tallest tales
Hot needles under fingernails
Purrs with her old cat o nine tails
Hypnotic femme fatale
A shield to block a life so tough
The games she plays are all so rough
He still could never get enough
Hypnotic femme fatale
Applies her love with so much force
Her radiation poisoned course
Won't let her go despite divorce
Neurotic femme fatale

Wow utterly beautiful although incredibly sad, falling for the wrong lover and even worse marriage with must be in the toxic zone finally turning ice cold in a divorce, a harsh lesson for anyone, I'll take my hat off though because you have expressed it so well not just in rhyme but in imagery. 💖
But also remember dwelling or being bitter makes them win every day. We only learn through pain and the only thing to do is rise from the ashes to choose a better lover.

Thank you Peto I've been a member for almost 4 years but took a break last October some would say recharge the batteries and actually it worked. Thank you for your kind words 💖
Ouch!! You just described destructive love so well. As sad as this is, it's oh so relatable!! I do however, feel like I'm the one with the six inch high stiletto boot...literally!! But I promise I don't cause disasters...unless they're "good" disasters! 😉
Ah
But what if I got her AFTER the divorce
Puts a different slant on it maybe
Thanks very much LIZ

Bringing in a hypnotic duo of rhyme and imagery, this is a great poem! Though she's toxic, he seems to have fallen for her. Wonderful and hypnotizing read, Stevie!
