Tune: Servant Song

('Brother, sister, let me serve you')

********

Here in gaining, we shall then lose

But if losing do we choose

In Christ's service this the way be

With His grace, humility

For in saving our own life we

Shall lose it, not keep it, see

If gain whole world, but lose own soul

We shall prosper none at all

If we shall be Christ's disciples

He each one to Him He calls

And says to deny self daily

Take up your cross, follow me

Lord, give wisdom, what that cross be

To each individually

And where we share, help selflessly

That others Christ in us see

Though some sufferings [are] not crosses

Some of our own making, this

Is what we have sometimes made here

But they not true cross to bear

Needing grace, power to always

Follow Christ through all earth's days

'Til heavenly rewards promised

Grant we your way have not missed

Yes, I invited a friend - dinner for two - then KP gate-crashed. The friend ran off - scared of old trouts! lol.

The government has told me for many years that I must give and that sacrifice is good for me. I found it a hard sell during the Viet Nam draft and now during tax season.

I make plans that I hope stay secret. Your wisdom suggests that there is a fatal flaw in that plan. I like to read the about the world I sometimes ignore. I respect your diligence to a cause intangible

Thanks Bobby. I suppose it means - we don't have to go mad, and live penniless, nor deny ourselves basic needs. But not to be selfish, greedy, gaining the whole 'world'. If having only worldly 'things' we can lose our soul - our own true selves. Though, yes, it is intangible. We can't see a God or god in person.

Staying with grace through small gestures: beautiful ā€œservice settingsā€ for all kinds of feasts, especially while celebrating with those less noticed on this earth! Always inspirational-thank you Orcheeā€¦
