Ace spades

peto

As I stood at the gate

Gargoyles pondered my fate

Could my silver tongue rescue my soul

And the demonic guard

Holding up the death card

Seemed to relish his miniscule role

When the temptress showed face

Clad in fine silks and lace

As she brushed up against me I froze

When she started to dance

Negating my last chance

Loosening all of her ribbons and bows

Through a vast ring of fire

Fueled by lust and desire

A horned creature with fork took the stage

With his sneer came a flood

Salty tears crimson blood

Swept me up flushing me to my cage

As they flayed off my skin

Through the almighty sin

I at Last got to savour some peace

Guess I must have passed our

Woke in bed full of doubt

Does he own me or have me on lease

    Minuscule role…
    Crimson salty blood
And so much more. I admire how you can jump into a world and as you deliver to us metaphorical tales that take in this otherworldly place we immediately see the relevancy measured in current day to day real world. That’s a style that you visit with the legacy akin to fables of AESOP. I enjoyed.
