Teddy.15

A sensory system with a power supply

a computer for brain

it can simply be switched

on and off

blood doesn't flow through veins

Just staring into nothingness

without any thoughts whatsoever

behind eyes, the soul of computer

tangled in wires and circuits

yet genius

peaceful, restful

she cannot feel grief

nor the daily disappointment that I myself have to embrace

she could never feel her broken heart

an enormous part of me

wishes I was her

and as I watch her I tremble

because

I am convinced her robotic heart

wants so desperately to beat

If just for a moment

to feel any slight emotion

at least, that's what I imagine

and If I’m really honest, I tremble because

her artificial intelligence

and lack of feeling

just makes me feel so damn envious.

This is such a real subject, put in the most delicate way. I agree, it would be nice to feel no grief or sadness......oh but I would accept grief and sadness, as long as I get to love and laugh!!! Well done Teddy! πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

        • Teddy.15

Thank you dear Liz for your enormous understanding of these scribbles, maybe it would be a great day if just for one day we didn't feel it all. Thank you sweet friend ❀️

Careful what you wish for Teddy
Ai couldn't write with such feeling as this
And when that switch is flicked hmmm
          Thought provoking read
          Thoroughly enjoyed

          • Teddy.15

Such a beautiful thing to say dear Peto, I shall let you into a secret personally I detest AI and all it stands for. The world is better with touch feel and tears even though maybe just for a moment we didn't have to hold those emotions which are far too often unwanted πŸ’–

            • peto

Your secret is safe with me
              Ta for sharing it

Dear Teddy, you've chosen a most appropriate pic for this poem. Ophelia, I think, succumbing to her fate. You've put so exquisitely into words the struggle of our emotional lives, for it is all emotion in the end. If we feel, we endure the consequences good, or bad, but we Feel. Your emotional life has led you to this gem of a poem, you are the amazing writer my dear! A thousand fav's

              • Teddy.15

Well way to make a robot cry!!!! LOL πŸ’– your words are so very precious dear Bella, coming from an exquisite writer means so much. Your time and understanding means the world. Thank you. πŸ’–

                Great writing teddy .. )

to be honest this makes me think of feeling numb .. not feeling anything at all .. and that is a difficult place to be .. you know when your watching something that’s supposed to be happy /funny .. and you feel β€˜nothing β€˜ I’ve felt that before .. sometimes but yes I can relate to the not wanting to feel grief / sadness .( difficult emotions )

I can see the envy in this but also the sympathy towards something which may not feel anything ..

                β€˜ as I watch her I tremble
                because
I am convinced her robotic heart
                wants so desperately to beat
                If just for a moment
                to feel any slight emotion’

how sad is it not to β€˜ feel β€˜ happiness joy and just to feel β€˜ empty β€˜

                A well written poem 🌸

Wow my dearest Rose, you have chosen my favourite stanza, we must all be empathetic and more compassionate towards others, we truly never really know unless they tell us, what they are going through. Sometimes maybe not too often though it would also be nice not to feel everything al the time. Thank you my dear friend. πŸ’–

Such a fresh concept, to not just criticize, but to empathize with it, and to wish to be it (some of the time.) Great read Teddy!

                  • Teddy.15

So very kind of you to come by to my page dear Parisab, thank you so much πŸ’–

A great write about a subject that makes me a bit nervous. I'm not sure we have thought out this technology adequately.

                    • Teddy.15

So very kind of you to come by dear Sorenbarret, I am not a fan of tech but I know for many things it's helpful like being here on this site, but for others it's a bit dark. Thank you. πŸ’–

i think if we were to become cyborg's, eventually
the only part of me I would never change
                      is my heart

                      • Teddy.15
