Fear Silence Not

Neville

Fear Silence Not

Do not fear silence

my friend,

there is nothing

to be afraid of there ..

For it is long

empty like discarded

worm casts

and old redundant

  conch shells ..

Filled only with echo’s

and the laughter

  of long ago moments ..

Still occasionally

carried before the tides

and the winds

  of yesterday’s gone ..

And as such,

there is nothing to fear

  whatsoever ..

    Good write N.
I'm gonna do a silent poem - there's no words to it, of course! lol.

    • Neville

sounds like nothing I've never heard before

      • orchidee

Or - it could be my book about KP and I - 1,000 pages long, all silent - not a word in it! lol. Well, I never see her hardly, and she's becoming increasingly unrecognisable and trout-like. lol.

      • LIZ

Ahhhh this is so beautiful, and true! Silence can be our best friend...if we're open, willing, and eager to explore! ๐Ÿ’œ

So very true, so much within yourself can be heard in silence.

            Lovely writing )

I think silence is easy to sit with , if we are comfortable in ourselves and that which lives in our mind ( nice feelings /

I vote for that - the old transistor atop my fridge goes off the moment breakfast is over....

In a world that grows increasingly noisy, we seem to have lost an appreciation for the value of silence. You speak beautifully of all that it holds for us in this poem, just loved it!

                  thanks a million Bella .. Neville ๐Ÿค

                  Great lines Neville
                  "For it is long
                  empty like discarded
                  worm casts"
Such a great image. I also loved the lines
                  "Filled only with echoโ€™s
                  and the laughter
                  of long ago moments ..
                  Still occasionally
                  carried before the tides
                  and the winds
                  of yesterdayโ€™s gone ..
                  All true my friend

Silence is the most understanding and accepting, of all friends. Silence is a lifetime companion.

                    • Neville

Absolutely Garth, silence like both fire and water, can indeed be a good friend .. but and it's a BIG BUT mind, it can also be one hell of a bad enemy too .. Neville

                    • Parisab

So true about the awkwardness of silence, the nature symbolism takes the fear out and brings mysteries โ€˜echoedโ€™ โ€ฆ This is why I enjoy the essence of your poetry, Neville.

                      • Neville

                        I am well n truly honoured ma'am .. thank you ..

                      • Kinsey Peterson

Nothing to fear in silence, aside from the sheer volume your own thoughts then create to occupy the space...

                        • Neville

thanks for checking in Kinsey .. another much appreciated visit .. N ๐Ÿ™‚
