There they were in full bloom,
The dahlias that I love,
That have such memories,
Such wonderful memories for me.
I was back in my childhood
Looking out in the back garden,
Dahlias everywhere,
My father’s favourite flower.
So many colours,
So much beauty,
And here they were in my garden
So very many years later
And every time I see them
I am back with him,
Back with my father.
A gentle man
And one of Nature’s gentlemen,
A man that showed me the way
The way to live life,
Live life with politeness and respect,
Respect for all in my life.
He will always be with me
Every time I listen to music,
As he brought music to my life,
Music that is so important,
So important in my life.
So here I am in harmony,
In harmony with life
Brought to me by him
As I listen to music
And see the dahlias.

You've done for me now, Andy...childhood recollections... Dad's favourite flower ...brother and I co-opted to patrol Dad's Dahlias, locate the matchboxes set up as earwig nests, turf inhabitants out onto the concrete path and...
Thanks for the memory, ...so they say....
Memories can bring such joy to our lives Dave, they certainly do to mine.

Very musical at the same time. I can almost hear the music!
The music is always there in my life Garth.

Very sentimental. A fond memory brought to life from your pen. We could all feel the emotion in this one. Nice work. - Phil A.
Thank you Phil, very much appreciated.
