Lioness Pride (A Homage to the England Women’s Football Team)

AuburnScribbler

Let those eleven, be the lift,

they make some heaven, such a gift,

no ego phallus, can be seen,

just a well versed, committed team,

as, Europe’s Queen, is England born,

a bright Red Rose, between the thorns,

in blood, in sweat, and in their tears,

ensures good spirits, for many years,

they make the scene, victorious,

throughout, they’ve been so glorious,

a shining example, of what family is,

in many hearts, they’ll never miss,

so, sing this loud, far, and wide,

fill yourselves, with Lioness Pride,

for it is the fuel, to power through,

a guiding beacon, that is so true.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Well it wasn't the result I, or the English people wanted, but it was a valiant effort nonetheless, and of course, bravo to Espana, who are now World Champions! With that in mind, here is my homage to the Lionesses, and may their example, continue to shine. The banner picture is of course, a bouquet of red roses, each rose representing a player and of course, their great manager, Sarina Wiegman. I hope that you enjoy this homage, bravo to the Lionesses, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.

They did very well Ben and should be proud of their efforts and especially the way they have brought the game to the children.
