I cry behind my shades

Natalie Heisey

"I cry behind my shades, where pain remains unseen,

Hiding all my emotions, so burdens aren't ever foreseen.

My Silent tears I shed, from every sense of gaze,

Protecting others, for my burden is mine to just embrace.

But in the solace of my car, I find my soul's release,

As my wheels spin on the pavement, my heart finds its peace.

Long drives become my fuse, where tears are set free The open road is where I can truly be me.

I take these long drives to let out all my cries, Sometimes it seems the only way to clear my heart and mind And free me from all the negativity I bury deep inside.

Behind my wheel, I find my power, as tears flow from my eyes,The road becomes my confidant, as I release my hidden cries.

With each mile, my heart and mind find all my worries just subsides,Long drives, are my therapy, where buried pain finally resides."

I cry behind my shades to gain my own insanity back into place the open road become my only secured place where all my burdens are lifted freely into space.

Bravery is my first takeaway and then empathy that prompted a reread helped the emotional journey you shared seep in and speak. You did a good job with this project evidenced by its power to make me think and imagine the importance of that safe haven you enter as the car door clicks. Nice write good read
