Tune: Woodlands
('Tell out my soul')
Psalms 1 to 5 parts
***********
Blessed be they who do the Lord's law delight
It shall be their companion day and night
Blessed they who in His law do meditate
The Lord shall comfort and profit them great
Such shall be like a tree that is planted
By rivers of water, growth be granted
That they do in their season fruit forth bring
Leaves shall not wither, they shall propser, sing
Why do the heathen rage against the Lord?
Know they not nothing can stand 'gainst His word?
Why the people imagine a vain thing?
That they could themselves victory ever bring?
But you, lord, are a shield sure unto me
My glory, lifter of my head you be
Not downcast always, nor in defeat lay
For I cry to you, you show me your way
Salvation unto the Lord does belong
We rise, bring unto Hm our joyful song
Your blessing is upon your people here
We love, we worship you with godly fear
Hear me when I call, do my words give ear
Consider my contemplation, be near
Me, for of you my meditation is
In such I find many comforts and bliss
Lead me, O Lord, me in your righteousness
Because of my enemies, see me, bless
Deliver me, make straight now your sure way
Before my face, make my path bright as day
