The Passenger

Doggerel Dave

Notice of absence from Doggerel Dave
Not absent - still here!
Keep Calm and Carry On Poeming. 😂

Bus home from shopping – commonplace event.

Woman boards, sits beside me without intent.

She’s young (of course) emanating power

Which crossed the slim space between us to scour

My stupor at the ordinariness

Of the ride, imbue hyperawareness

Of her presence, all her vitality;

Then a stop, departure, finality.

Just what was it made her leaving so sad?

I was only twice as old as her dad….

Ah, beauty or appreciation is in the eye of the beholder no matter what age. I went to the gym this AM to carry on with my Physical Therapy exercises, and there I saw the young and robust, with physical prowess on display. Talk about feeling like a fossil. My only solace is that one day, they will be the fossils. Take care dear friend!

Cheers Bella. Your solace is my solace sometimes. But oh dear.....
Nice to know you have my back as always.. Look after yourself.

Twice as old as her dad... then that's like grand dad, right? We can only dream my friend.

Didn't realise I'd encounter a mathematician on MPS, Soren.............................................

It's the itch that goes with the dreaming which gets to me sometimes......
