We Experience Life

Bella Shepard

We experience life

But all too often

We fail to learn from it

With eyes wide

Ears open

Mouths shut

Let us gain the knowledge

That is right there

Waiting for us

If only we think

my father had an old saying that ran very much along these lines .. sound advice and well worth remembering Bella 👍

Thank you dear Nev, I think our parents often had the wisest sayings. Sometimes I wish I'd listened more. Take care!

Very nice! We take so much for granted, step over the lessons at times....and get lost in the noise. Must start really listening! Thank you for this!

Thank you Liz. You are so right, too easy to not pay attention.

It's much like anything else, if one doesn't want to see something, they never will. We need to be open to it, willing to accept. Very clear and concise write. If I may, "But all to often" should be "But all too often", otherwise a well received meaning and write

Thank you my friend for your comments, there is much we miss in the cacophany we make. And you're right about the "too", thank you for catching that.

Yes, one thing we're meant to be slow to do - speak; and two things quick to do - hear, and become angry - says James in his letter/epistle.
Some sharp things there, including 'you fool', 'you vain person'. Oops!

Thank you Orchi, I knew I heard it somewhere. lol I knew I'd get a good response from you.

I was so busy working out the difference between hearing and listening, that I did not hear ya cos I was not listening! heehee.

Let me know if you ever get it figured out. Now, when my husband has trouble between listening and hearing, he just takes the aides out and solves the problem. lol You take care, and be good!

Yes - be open to it, interpret and apply. But first be open to it, otherwise.....
                You have it there, Bella.

Thank you Dave, you are a kindred spirit and I always enjoy these exchanges. Take care my friend!

So true Bella, many never listen, I do.

Dear friend you listen wholeheartedly, that's what's so wonderful about you. Thank you for being there for all of us.

Good advice to a population that is near sighted, closed minded and deaf to what is around us. We all should question what we see, hear and even think. Nicely said

Perhaps if we took out the ear buds, and looked up instead of constantly down at an IPhone, we'd do a lot better. Thank you for your welcome comments my friend.
