Plastic Smile

SHELLY

I try to be good

To treat you as a woman should

It's not that I don't care

Or don't hold you dear

I can't even say

I don't love you in every way

I am sure that I do

I really do love you

But what you don't see

Is that something is missing for me

That special kind of spark

The one that glows up your heart

Because it is expected

That I do what is directed

I go on with the game

Even though I am in pain

Years later I can't go

Or let my true feelings show

So I keep a plastic smile

To keep you satisfied

    Such a sad situation
The 3rd verse is particularly telling
    Great and very emotional writing
