We just do not understand!
How can this have happened,
Happened to us?
Our love for each other
Is so very strong.
We are one,
Our minds, hearts and souls together,
Together in a love so strong.
We have lived our long lives
But in this evening of our time
We fell in love.
Even at our age we make love,
And it is not sex,
It is pure unadulterated love,
Love that we have for each other
In the closest and most wonderful way.
We laugh at and with each other,
There are no issues at all,
We even think like each other.
What have we done,
Done to be so happy
And be together
At the age we are.
And all I did almost two years ago,
Was to ask her out for coffee.
