Staleness renews, to re-write a fate,
a letter reads, from Russia with hate,
as treaties break, he prolongs the scar,
the “pale clothing moth’s” USSR,
a stereotype lives, by dropping bombs,
how can he be master when it’s all gone?
Thus, stupidity of him, rises again,
in a time where peace, is a shaky pen,
mis-spent Rubles, make the rubbles,
see the sites, of recycled troubles,
and the boy that wields, a Kalashnikov,
is a zeitgeist poster, that is so off,
a comrade’s heart, cannot withdraw,
they only know how, to make holes in walls,
such is the light, that’s made by him,
where love is paid, with broken skin.

- Comment from author about the poem: When will this selfish Russian horror story end? It's abysmal, that such a dark, putrid national stereotype, has now become the law of the world's largest country. It's so abhorrently dangerous, that some Russians look up to Putin as a loving father, whereas the actual clear results are, that by his decrees, he has become the butcher of so many Ukrainian lives. Perhaps some Russians, and some people in general, are born to blow holes in walls, either it be directly with heavy artillery, or to act as a snake in a suit, who allows such barbarism, to become the code of conduct, but with so many heavy hearts at the moment, with such sad sorry state of affairs, it does leave a lot to be desired. The accompanying banner picture, resembles a walled off city, of which, in some countries is a grim cold reality, due to the cancerous choices made by mankind, to prolong such conflicts. I hope that you enjoy the poem, some actual change for the better has to give, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.

Dear friend, another arrow to the heart. I think Putin's KGB background perhaps helped set the stage for who he is today. He knows only force to achieve what he wants, and if he can't get it, he destroys it. He will fall, as all dictators eventually do, but how many are yet to suffer from him before that happens. In the meantime his own country will continue to suffer as well. Good write!
Thanks for the read Bella, and for your very agreeable commentary.
I totally agree with your above comments, but in the way that humanity operates, particularly in voting, they, (we), always seem to settle lazily with what is popular, in order to re-paint ugly caricatures, which seem to be the overblown individual cultures and traditions of every country. Though this poem is about the barbarism of Russia, it echoes Nazism, and of course, is not the only country where a misguided brutal force is in control, just look at China, North Korea, Gabon and Ecuador.
Your question raises a deep concern though, how many more are yet to suffer before his long awaited downfall?
Thanks again, and I hope that all is well.
Strong true words Ben. Maybe one day peace will be with us but I am not holding my breath.
Andy
Thanks for the read Andy, and I agree with your comment, but frustratingly, it shouldn't be about holding breath, or the choice to do so, a solution should already be made.
I hope that all is well.
Important reminder to our existence (of humanity)-thanks for penning on tough topics-so many look away or pay to reinforce selling them arms
Thanks for the read Parisab, and thank you for your kind words, of which, sadly, the last couple, I wholeheartedly agree with.
Though some poems may be hard to write, they need to be heard and read, in order to encourage some change for the better, in such a harsh world we make.
I hope that all is well.
