Tune: Irish
('Thy kingdom come, on bended knee')
James 1 v.5-8
*******
If any of you lack wisdom
Then ask you of God some
He gives to all liberally
'Tis for the asking free
He upbraids not, no reproach, scold
We can ask sure and bold
Ask wisdom, it shall given be
To meet your needs wholly
But ask in faith, not wavering
Not unsure nor doubting
For they who waver, doubt, they be
As wave tossed on the sea
Blown about here and there, wind drives
Them, they no settled thrives
Such shall not receive anything
From God in their doubting
A double minded person be
Unstable always, see
In what they do they changeable
Not constant nor faithful

My parents made me and my siblings remember this scripture when we were younger. "If any of you lacks wisdom, ask God for some". I'll never forget! This one's very good!
Thanks Liz.
