we were once best friends

lctc

we were once best friends,

now I keep waiting for you to make amends,

you were so in love then,

but what you said to me yesterday makes me think again.

we were once best friends,

now I feel like our friendship in her hands suspends,

I told you everything I had to say,

now it is your hand to play.

we were once best friends,

maybe that's why dirty looks my way she sends,

I still worry and think about you,

but I feel like I'm behind her in queue.

we were once best friends,

so I hope you see this from my lens,

remember I will always hold you dear,

and if you need anything I am still here.

Once viscerally attached it’s mostly to share and to give cuz that’s fulfilling but I believe it’s also our badge of honor cuz it’s proof we arrived at least once at that unselfish maturity that maybe we feared secretly might never happen. Nice write Good read
