Dearth

Neville

Dearth

Can you feel

the weight of my

longing ..

It is greater than

when I lost blue ..

And so

I now wonder,

where on earth,

did the sky

all go when you

left me

alone with my

hunger ..

Tho’ should we

by chance,

ever meet again

my love ..

I am sure I would

more than

just disappoint ..

Yes again

and again, until

all the cows

have come home

and you had

lost what was

left of your appetite ..

Staring at desire's scarcity peak has a way of doing that. I can feel the strength of your hunger...need. I'm attracted to the urgency of your promise to satisfy; even though you were the one left without; and the willingness to go to great lengths to....please! πŸ’œ

To speak the words of your poem is to feel the emotion. To "wonder where did the sky all go", captures the enormity of the loss, and the regret that it is irrevocable. The pathos of this verse, palpable. A strong write my friend.

Cleverly written Neville, it may be that that hunger may return for both of you.

as i read, recognise and relate
to the brave transparency in these choice words
how I fear, the truth they promise...
a dread, so many of my nightmares
                  have been sculpted out of..
                  (such great pacing, dear Poet
so blatantly subtle, so tentatively bold
                  such refined skill you showcase)

                  • Neville

You are way too generous my dear Mek .. Thank you and so very BIGLY .. Neville
