Tune: Offertorium

('Sometimes a light surprises'

= 'When Jesus came to Jordan')

Colossians 3 v.12-17

********

Put on, as God's chosen ones

His people, daughters, sons

And holy and beloved, share

With others graces fair

Tender mercies and kindness

Of mind show humbleness

Meekness and longsuffering

Reflect Christ in each thing

Forbearing one another

Each sister and brother

Forgiving one another

And godly desires stir

If any have a quarrel

Against any, do well

Forgive as Christ forgave you

Complete and whole and true

Above all these things put on

Love, now let it be done

'Tis the bond of perfectness

And with it we may bless

And let the peace of God rule

In your hearts, this His call

United in one body

Be thankful and agree

Let the word of Christ dwell here

Richly in you and clear

In all wisdom, be teaching

And too admonishing

One another in psalms, hymns

Voice of praise that ne'er dims

Spiritual songs, and so sing

With grace in hearts and bring

Bring worship to the Lord new

And whatsoe'er you do

In word or deed, do all in

Whatever you begin

Do in the name of the Lord

Jesus, give thanks outpoured

Thanks to God, the Father He

Our God eternally
