Charlotte’s Fate

Teddy.15

I stood on her with my clumsy shoe

of course, totally by accident

becoming numb for a moment

reflecting on my regret

knowing that it’s bad luck to kill a spider

I then started to envision

what sort of day I would now have?

after a very short pause…

I decided

not to over obsess

on the bad luck

I have now brought upon my soul

it was clearly in the hands of karma

but my goodness

I actually had a terrific day.

you are excelling in a vast arrange of poetic genres Teddy .. and I admire anyone who let's these extraordinarily creatures live beside them in peace just as I do ..

my mum used to say .. if you want to live and thrive, then let a spider run alive ... ❀️

Spiders are not traditionally bad luck in the USA but I tend to leave them alone......unless they are in my house! Great write by the way, wonderful, in fact!

It\'s bad luck to---- kill ----them, in fact here they eat the mosquitoes so they are loved. Thank you dear Christina. πŸ’–

Although I respect all life and feel it is bad luck to kill anything living I wouldn't let it ruin my day either. An entertaining write Teddy

Yes, here in Italy it is a great importance not to kill a spider. Of course superstitions we all have our own, I don't walk under ladders either. Thank you so much for coming by to these scribblings πŸ’–

Glad you had a good day after killing that spider Teddy. Mary does not like spiders so I have to capture them and let them go free in the garden.

Awe, I think you have bigger spiders in the UK I remember, ours are small thank goodness but yes superstitions can certainly interfere sometimes. thank you dear Andy πŸ’–
