Hall of Shame

AuburnScribbler

Instead of wholesomeness,

lets all throw some shade,

giving all the loathsomeness,

in our hall of shame,

let tardy revelations,

make demons out of stars,

our lurid ruminations,

ensure there are more scars,

though we err, we’re sacred,

so lets all be the judge,

to recycle stale hatred,

making thoughts out of mud,

put success in the dark,

make it hard to reminisce,

let Spanish ladies spark,

be outshone by his kiss,

though free birds are to fly,

some touches are mistook,

now we choose to take the time,

to edit My Booky Wook,

a State of Chaos, blunders,

Laura presents the story,

of dour Johnson wonders,

no resolve, means all the glory,

no prudent plans are here,

flippancy dims the light,

for true love is so clear,

when we’re Married at First Sight,

we’re overjoyed, to be in charge,

the ones who author pain,

as long as we humans, have it large,

there’ll always be hall of shame!

  • Comment from author about the poem: There are many garish acts that are done by our species, and one of them is naming and shaming. Most likely to make a bit of money out of it, to get some "decided overdue" closure. Thus, useful hypocrisies are born, to yet again cast more ashamedness on humanity. In this poem, "Hall of Shame", I mention some things that have happened recently, that are either overreactions or misjudgments, depending on your outlook. Regardless, most things of complaint are humanmade, and our core operation is to blame. Instead of creating robots for us to command, we should take grip of our own evolution, as we really do need to retune. But, for now as long as we "have the power" in our hands, and in the "reality" we make, let's all induct those we choose mob-handedly, and perhaps ourselves, into the Hall of Shame. The banner picture of a church, is very apt, as naming, blaming and shaming, are signatures when it comes to world religions, Christianity in particular. I hope that you enjoy the poem, you know my catchphrase by now "when will it get any better!?" And as always, please do stay safe everyone.

So much truth in this piece friend,
Though I disagree with Christianity blaming and shaming, we don't do that, well those of us that are true Christians don't, granted that there are many that do, our job is just to share God's word and not to pressure anyone to anything, we all have free will and choice,
Great piece here friend, đź‘Ź đź‘Ť

      Thanks for the read BlessedbyGod.

I appreciate your ardent faith, but what I have to go with, in the basis of my opinion, are the massacres of the Crusades, the way in which certain historical monarchs have used Christianity as a weapon, and the relentless tensions between the denominations of Christianity, particularly in the USA and Ireland today. If there is unnecessary violence and convoluted division, there is most definitely a blame, and a shame, but as you've said, there are those, like yourself, who wish to remain peaceful.

Though, we differ in our thinking, I wholeheartedly agree with the penultimate line in your comment, we all have the free will to choose, lets hope we make better choices in the future.

Thanks again, and I hope that all is well.

Thanks for the read Andy, and for your kind words, they're very much appreciated, and yes, a thousand times again, when will it get better?

I hope that all is well.

We’re all in the hall of shame, with noone to throw the first stone, which is the whole plan I believe. Thank you for tackling the conflicts of all ages…

Thanks for the read Parisab, and I'm glad that you're on board with the sentiment raised, and though it may the plan in force at the moment, there can always be a hope, for a need for the better.

You are very welcome, and I hope that all is well.
