As they put me to sleep
The last image I see
Is the face of an angel
Who's winking at me
There's no wings or preened feathers
No halo has she
Though her eyes burned the fear from my heart
Slipping into yon darkness
Where lives can get lost
All the i's have been dotted
And all the t's crossed
On the verge of a coma
The coin's been tossed
In the void her eyes massage my heart
Surgical sharp's the scalpel
Patrolling my skin
Opened up like emergency
Soup in a tin
When my insides are outside
My old safety pin
Tacks the look in her eyes to my heart

Painful to read. Hope to hear back from you soon! The way I see it, there's a "glue" holding you together! Through darkness ...a constant....that burns any fear. 💙
A glue eh
I'll take it
All good here ta LIZ
Getting stuck into it
Heyyyyyy welcome back!! You know I had to throw something at you!! 😁
The whole piece was great and many lines are worthy of quote but that last line , and how cool is it the have the very last really nail it, wraps up perfectly.
Too cool

Thank you very much
Braveheart literally, I hope it's all over now, rebuilding of a new and stronger heart to go with your poetic soul. ❤️
All over Teddy
Much obliged
Your gentle heart is beating strong I hope-whomever the angel was, the surgeon or a loved one, it is good that she made a connection with care and concern-We hope that all is well Peto…

All well now
Thank you
Great to hear that you are well.
Quite the story of fear and more obviously, surgery. If so, just know for whatever reason you've been gone, you have been terribly missed!
Back again Christina
thank you very much
Truly grateful to see you here
