Tune: Morning Hymn
('Awake my soul, and with the sun')
Proverbs18 v.10-15
*********
Name of the Lord is a strong tower
Righteous may run to it each hour
And there abide, and find safety
For there they set on high shall be
The rich man's wealth his strong city
Is, and he trusts in it, so be
And as high wall in his conceit
He thinks he has it all replete
Before destruction the heart be
So proud and boastful and haughty
Before honour humility
Is, such shall fare well, graciously
They that answer matter before
They hear it, it is folly sure
Folly and shame, they do not wait
To hear all, but their own view state
The spirit of a man it will
Sustain him through his weakness still
But wounded spirit who can bear?
They who broken spirit do share
Heart of the prudent knowledge gains
And with them wisdom it remains
The ear of the wise knowledge seeks
'Tis revealed to the lowly, meek

You reading that book again?
Thans 2781. Yep. Really, I should call all these type of poems 'Proverb Pieces'. Difficult to come up with different titles for them.
You should like to have the chance? You rich there?! (verse 2). The proverb is not to trust in riches!
"And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them."
Pure poetry.
I never knew all you have is mine, and all I have is yours. heehee.
Some churches only use one part of it - All you have is mine, so give us your dough (cash!).
Very perceptive
Yup, they'll pass round more than one 'hat' (collection plate) sometimes, in the same service. That's going too far! Doh!
It's like a puzzle lol π good morning dearest Orchi. π
Wisdom and folly. I chose folly - married KP. Doh!
Good one Orchi.
