Tune: Mannheim
('Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us')
Proverbs 16 v.16-22
************
How much better is it to get
Wisdom than gold, no regret
And also get understanding
Than wealth that silver can bring
Highway of the upright it be
To depart from evil, see
They that keep their way do preserve
Their soul, they it do conserve
But pride goes before destruction
Fo each boastful, selfish one
Haughty spirit goes before fall
They shall trip and stumble all
Better to be of a humble
Spirit, hear the lowly call
Than to share in deeds of the proud
Or with what goods they endowed
They that handle matters wisely
Shall go on prosperously
Wise in heart shall be called prudent
Their wisdom be evident
Sweetness of lips it does increase
Learning, and brings health and peace
Understanding is a well-spring
To the wise in everything

This week dear Orchidear I was offered a book contract with Euro books, they told me how fab my work was then asked me to purchase 200 copies of course I was very disappointed and declined their offer, I actually would have given my work to charity without a second thought but it's the way in which these companies approach us that is the thing I dislike. Anyway I'm reading your first stanza and today it really does speak to me. Thank you! ❤️
Oh I see, thanks Teddy.
Got any gold? Pass it to me, if not needed! lol. I not got the true meaning of this poem. heehee.
No gold just hapneys
Better to preserve our souls, than gain riches and gold!! Absolutely! 💫
Thanks Liz. Erm, some churches want gold/silver rather than keeping souls. Doh! Not all churches though.
