Propitiation Peace

orchidee

Tune: St Peter

('How sweet the name of Jesus sounds')

**********

Jesus, man of sorrows did share

In human life and care

Knew grief, loneliness, rejection

He God the Father's Son

We may by Him be comforted

He our Shepherd and head

Finding in Him peace, sins forgiven

He Saviour for all men* (*mankind)

Forgive where we may cosily

Rest in our apathy

Give grace that we continual gorow

In you, more of you know

It shall be a prosperous way

If we follow each day

For Him Himself the Way, Truth, Life

Bring comfort in our strife

Another good hymn that needs a songbook or should I say hymnal?

Thanks SB. One church had only mainly Choruses - repetitive ones, sung about 50 times each, so it seemed. They wouldn't sing any of my hymns. It was not where they were "at". Oh, they dunno what a hymn book is even. Doh!
Along the lines of 'Yeah, hooray, wooh, wanna shout it from the mountain-tops'. Not today, thank you, I say!

A shame as a child I used to love to sing hymns that had multiple different verses, not so boring as the same line over and over.

I don't mind Choruses or 'Refrains' within hymns, but not 'choruses' which may be fairly short, but repetitive, and bland; 'I wanna......'; 'Oh yeah, we'll praise....', etc over and over. That may only make it worse. it will seem like 100 times instead of about 10 times!
What? A church not knowing what a hymn book is - hardly? It's a special event if they have an actual hymn?! Whatever next?! (lol).
