Poetry give us a look into who the authors truly are,
Though we don't know them, we get to enjoy their work from afar,
Each piece as it's own identifying scent,
If you will, like it's own thumbprint,
Gives us insight into the authors personality,
The style of writing takes on the poets identity,
Some pieces are funny or and ode to something or someone we love,
Some are written about pain or the promise of God above,
Each piece is fragrant with words and perfect flow,
Sending a beautiful aroma to the readers that the angels blow,
Carried on the wind are the words written in our hearts,
To captivate the reader to the last word from the start,
To intice thoughts that we never had before,
To tickle our funny bone and have us laughing on the floor,
So write on dear poets, insert your favorite scent,
Mine is love and inspiration, mixed with alot of friendly encouragement

You've so well captured the many identities within the poems or rather the poets. I enjoyed this!

This is beautiful dear Melissa, if a poem touches us it's usually through relation of some kind, so yes this is beautiful. Apart from when I write satire that's just my naughty muse lol ❤️
She can be a very naughty muse!!
And she brings out that side of us that we keep hidden away from the world!!!
Thank you sweet Teddy
The scent of a poem, I love it. A beautiful analogy for the sentiments of the poet, as a fragrance that transcends their words. Exquisite!
Aww, thank you so much Bella!!
Really good poem, you are right, our poems all have our own identities. Well done!
Thank you Christina, your kind words always brighten my day!
Inspiring words Melissa, may we continue with all our words.
