Returning to play she's had serious game
Since relinquishing undeserved portions of blame
Says she don't feel herself looks exactly the same
The girl on the verge of my life
Took the world on her shoulder and held down the fort
When still singed from being burned by a kangaroo court
Sailed away in her mind drifting past every port
The girl on the verge of my life
She had trust in abundance profound her respect
His assault on her senses was swift and direct
A flamethrower to the heart he had sworn to protect
The girl on the verge of my life
In a star's twinkling shadow she's trying her best
To get rid of the traps now she's shot of the pest
Can't connect to admirers with young in the nest
The girl on the verge of my life
She'll appear now and then throwing life given style
Over others who haven't embraced in a while
When she offered an inch I had snatched at the mile
The girl on the verges of life

Great use of rhyme.
Thank you Thomas
I've come to look forward to these!
'His assault on her senses was swift and direct
'A flamethrower to the heart he had sworn to protect '
Like secretly sending sparks or inspiration to help her along.
Love this!
Thank you sage

The girl on the verges in your life , is a great one and she deserves to be happy,
I get a sense that you can be the man to make her happy!
Her and the young in her nest,
Write on my dear friend, you're great and your messages come through loud and clear,
Don't give up on her,
Blessed

This is so beautifully passionate. Seems to me you're SEEING all of her struggles but also the beauty it all brings!! 💫💫💫💫💫
Seems like you see everything LIZ
I appreciate it more than you know
Much obliged
I feel like you see all her struggles and pain but can also see her determination and strength. You see the beauty in all of the ugliness she faces.
"Since relinquishing undeserved portions of blame
Says she don't feel herself looks exactly the same "
"Took the world on her shoulder and held down the fort"
"His assault on her senses was swift and direct
A flamethrower to the heart he had sworn to protect"
"Can't connect to admirers with young in the nest"
"When she offered an inch I had snatched at the mile"
Beautifully written and undeniably, brutally relatable.
Most times we are not looking for someone to swoop in and save us. To fix us. We are looking for someone capable of acknowledging everything you have captured in this poem and loving us enough to fix themselves so they stop doing this to us. Not just a magical fix all.
So beautifully written and truly capturing the depth of situations without too many words. Wonderfully done.
Half of the battle and usually the hardest part is finally facing yourself and recognizing you are the problem and loving yourself and the other enough to take the steps to fix it.
What a lovely comment Niki
