Hanging by fingernails

sorenbarrett

I've lived my life, hanging onto the edge

walking the ledge

tight roping on a razor in reverse

betting against the odds

taking on the gods

playing the lottery of the universe

Always took the long shot

never got caught

although many said stop

even when I lost

never paid the cost

I always came out on top

I've ridden a bucking bull

swam in a whirlpool

walked in a lion's den

accused in a court

dodged bullets for sport

lived life to its fullest amongst men

And may you do some more for a very long time to come sir. A fabulous poem that sped up as I read it, living life on the edge teaches us so very much. ❤️

Thank you Teddy for the review and most kind words. Yes we only live it once and we have to wring every moment out of it.

Doesn't matter if you don't get caught. Thanks for the review and comment. Made me smile.

we're in-sync again in our posts my friend
            lift them syllable weights
            pump those positivity muscles
            ink those knockout metaphors
claim your belt and reign supreme!
            i'll be in your corner
            iced towels and Vaseline in-hand!

Thank you most dear friend. I need all the support I can get as the rounds go on and my aging legs weaken. Your encouraging words humble me. If knocked out I'll try to write a few words on the canvas.

The lottery of the universe paints a vivid image. And for years of alcohol and drug abuse I spun the wheel of chance, only to land on the gift of sobriety which gives me the winning ticket. I really enjoy your work.

Thank you Gray for the read. Another old one but I always been lucky when it comes to what counts. Appreciate your attention to my older pieces.
