Only Human

Saxon Crow

And there you were upon the cross
My hope, salvation, my Lord, my love
All sin created by a foolish breed
The weight of ages of every creed
Far outweighed thorns and whips
For what your felt was a soul choked grip
Then you cried with all your being
My God! My God! Why have you forsaken me.
It was that moment there when you knew
The reason you came to free us all
For upon the cross while you took our sin
Your connection to God was no longer there.
You understood. You saw the truth.
That we are only human and so was you.
Then you forgave us our sins and alone you died
And I swear that day the Lord learnt to cry
And to me that makes me, in faith, believe
That for a single moment you were just like me.
So I live in hope, awe and admiration
That through you lord I can get salvation
Because when I think of what happened to you
My heart weeps in gratitude for your holy truth

A fine write SC. I might be able to set something to a hymn tune in something of yours, if you wish?

      Will you sing it?

If you'd like Orchi. I'd feel very honoured.
