Hands

M.E.M.

Held by loved ones in times of hardship
Clasping the wrinkles of an elder
as they slip away.
Hands hold strength and love.

Clammy when nervous
And shaky when scared
But another is always there to hold on
and show support.

The calluses from years of hard labor
and nails chewed to the quick
from deep thought.

I hold your hand to show support
Solidarity and my love for you.
