Squeezed Between Our Now and Thens

can you still feel

where

we once were

and where we

have since been ..

not forgetting

of course,

all those other

places we

both somehow,

managed to

just squeeze in ..

between

the gaps that is ..

which still

exist to serve

and to separate

all of our

here and nows

from our

there and our

thens ..

I know I still do

albeit occasionally ..

Here, now, there, then,.... I dunno if I coming or going. I feel like the Grand of Duke of York. 'C'mon, now' I said to him - 'up or down, you undeciding time- waster?!' lol.

I think you would probably know, or at least have a clue if you were coming

I dunno though. I met myself coming back from the shops the other day. I said to me 'you coming or going?! Eh? I'm waffling now.

The "here and now" are massively different from the " there and then " and that's because they are separated by lightyears of experiences. We cannot measure time as linear when one is dealing with multitudes of happenings. As life slows down, we look back and wonder how we survived the pace.
A raw question that asks if all is remembered equally by both, which it is almost impossible to be.
Your poem shows us how life's events are not always recalled similarly by the participants. A wonderful poem. - Phil A.

I like to ponder on what people write, because poetry is so succinct that it can appear to be what it isn't or something other than what's intended.

Those gaps are always filled with good, bad or indifferent times Neville.

I'm wearing that girdle of now and then. "Then" is telling me it fits perfectly, but now it's too tight.
