I am Wondering

Cedrick

I am wondering

how an unpretentious red liquid

In our body

Has both life and death, in its hands

Or how we feel the wind

But we can't touch or see it

And how the clouds hang around high in the sky

I’m not Buying it even a little. I’ve been trying to stretch any metaphor to get how “unpretentious” belongs. It seems like you just grabbed a word you liked and force fit it in. I also noticed reviews that offer praise, I like those guys but I’m also calling them out and it will serve to lessen my faith if the future brings positive comments from them to me. Unpretentious blood, wind we can’t touch , and hanging clouds. It’s all bad on various levels with the overall effect dropping a reader in a windy day with some clouds that don’t pretend. Nope nope nope
