Fever

Doggerel Dave

Notice of absence from Doggerel Dave
Not absent - still here!
Keep Calm and Carry On Poeming. 😂

As the ambulance sped me to hospital

Could it be, was this my ‘final curtain’?

                          *

Fever tore at me all day and all night;

Sleep deprivation the hospital’s cure,

Arms punctured relentlessly without fight:

I’m home now recovered with sleep so pure.

                           *

I’m surprised it wasn’t my end at all -

An encore then, (subject matter uncertain)?

this is one o them that makes me feel more than just one thing at a time .. there is of course the sadness & appropriate amount of compassion and empathy that one may or may not expect in view of the fact we have not met in person but share a literary relationship .. and then conversely, there is a feeling of gladness that you are now back here at MPS and hopefully recuperating if not already fully convalesced .. Oh' and furthermore, there is a genuine feeling of appreciation that your poetic offering today has more than adequately explained your most recent protracted and until now unexplained absence .. Oh' and for what its worth, I can honestly say you have been missed and not only by me .. Neville

Thanks for that, Neville. Now convalesced more or less fully after some rehab (plus some to come as an outpatient). Couldn't have expected more (or less) from me - my verse (not poetry) is usually based on what I've experienced, however small or trivial.

Thanks Andy - I hunted around for you earlier ( as an indication that MPS was still running on solid rails) but couldn't find you. Worried - but no, you are still here for which I remain very grateful.

Fido knew what it was, of course, as he knows 99% of everything! Best wishes.

Touché! Been away from tech but unsuccessfully. So it’s back on the www.

So glad that there will be an encore. A scary story indeed but adressed with a bit of humor. Well done.

'Hope there will be an encore. Muse a little cagey about the infection - though not really contagous in the regular sense.
                  Thanks Soren.
