An Uncertain Kind of Aloneness
When we first met
her hair was
the same colour as
tropical sand
caressed by waves
and the sea ..
So when I close my
eyes slow now,
I can maybe still
find us,
on an empty beach
somewhere
and with any luck
about to become
naked ..
Although we are
never alone are we ..
They just
placed a camera
and a microphone
inside the belly
of my mandolin ..
How else can they
possibly
continue to rape
and abuse us ..
Now that our pride
and dignity are gone ..

Good write N.
I wanted to write 'A certain kind of aloneness - without KP'. Well, I suppose I hardly see her in person - only on TV, in papers, etc, or if I collect her from the botox clinic. She's there 23 hours of every day. lol.
I suspect that you are destined to forever be alone .. but hey that leaves the rest of us 8 billion or so to have loadsa fun ..
this really touched me thank you it feels so vulnerable and distant at the same time π
and You my friend are far too generous .. many very sincere thank you's are now on their way way to you .. Neville π€
Best not the open beach, sadly .
Lock the door, draw the curtains...oh, and leave the mandolin outside.... Evokes though a strong feeling of nostalgia of course, the first part - the rest I'll take with a grain of....sand....
You aint still delirious are ya .. and why, when I close my eyes, do I imagine you scratchin yourself all over .. in a corner, you old Dog you π
Imaginative...creative.. you'll be doing a verse or two next................................................................ Certainly scratching my facial fungus after seven weeks..π§ββοΈ
You two need a room? Meanwhile, I'll just look the other way. π
we had a room but wore it out .. Oh' and thanks for turning the other cheek my friend .. ππ
The least I can do for fellow poet. π
That pride and dignity can be re-awakened Neville and all will be fine.
Andy
