Tune: Holton Holgate
('Firmly I believe and truly')
Psalm 31 v.1-5
********
In you, Lord, do I put my trust
Though I be mere man and dust
Let me never here be ashamed
For enemies taunts have framed
Save me, Lord, in your righteousness
Hear words I to you address
Bow down your ear, deliver me
Come to my help speedily
Be you my strong rock of refuge
I turn to you, take courage
Be to me a house of defence
A strong fortress, save me hence
'Tis true, you my rock and fortress
So for your name's sake no less
Lead me and guide me in safety
Your my Lord, protector be
Pull me out of enemies net
That they have secretly yet
Laid for me, but you unto me
Myr strength and my helper be
Into your hand I commit my
Spirit, trusting you are nigh
You Lord God of truth have redeemed
Me, so have chosen, so deemed
