Each artist has their own way,
Their own way of forming patterns.
They may be portraits,
They may be of scenes of Nature,
They may be abstract.
So many type of art
But what the artist is doing
Is not creating what they see,
But creating something
That others may see.

- Comment from author about the poem: I love all types of art and there is one painting in the Ashmolean Museum, "A Converted British Family Sheltering a Christian Missionary from the Persecution of the Druids", that I have stood in front of for hours and each time I see it I see something different.

Good write Gold. Did you and I flee from any Druids in person?!
I could sing to them - scare them off. lol.
Thanks Orchi.
And each with its intrinsic value shines through when we open ourselves to the new, the different, and even the strange.
So very true CB, we must open ourselves to see.

Hi Andy. Can't say that images via the internet do much for many paintings, but I can relate to your ‘obsession’ with a particular work of art. For me, it is ‘The Feast in the House of Levi’ by Paolo Veronese which I have seen in real time even though it resides in Venice.
Has an interesting history too. Best I can do is offer you a Wikipedia reference:

Thank you for that Dave, looking at artworks in reality gives such a deep feeling to me. My daughter is an artist and many years ago when we went to see her artwork in her degree show there was one artwork there (apart from hers) that I can still see, it was of a path up an alley leading to a corner and I still want to know what is around that corner!
That painting by Veronese has so much in it that I believe I could stand in front of that for hours as well.

Might you be saying, "Art is in the eye of the beholder?" Either way, I'd say you're both an artist Andy. 👍
Yes I probably am AP, thank you.
