Tune: Helmsley
('Lo, He comes with clouds descending')
Isaiah 40 v.1-5
********
Comfort, comfort, you my people
Says your God unto you all
Speak comfort words to mya people
I do hear them when they call
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia
Trusting me they shall not fall
Say that their warfare is ended
Sins forgiven, accomplished
Voice of him in wilderness cries* {*John the Baptist}
Coming of the Lord is nigh
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia
Shall appear unto our eyes
Prepare the way of the Lord, it be
The message proclaimed here free
Make straight in desert a highway for
Our God, He shall come for sure
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia
Establish His reign e'ermore
Exalted shall be each valley
Each mount, hill, be made low, see
And the crooked shall be made straight
Rough places made smooth not late
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia
Equal be each one's estate
And the glory of the Lord shall
Be revealed, we shall know well
And all humankind shall it see
In united company
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia
For the Lord has said, so be* (*Amen)

The prepared are preparable, acquiring oil while it’s available; then on to gather at the Lamb’s wedding table to sup of rewards too grand and quite inscrutable.
Thanks CB. I will scoff all the pork pies at the feast! lol.
Your work is beautiful!
