A tooth ache

sorenbarrett

A sudden jolt of pain like a nail to the brain

From my mouth came a rotten smell, brimstone, surely this is hell

bringing back a memory of youth, when I suffered from a bad tooth

Immediately a dentist I called. Pull it, I balled

I can't he said or surely you'll be dead

You need protection from the infection

Pain will continued to burgeon. I'll send you to an oral surgeon

So with the deferral he made a referral

Not wanting to wait, the pain to sedate

Thinking of time lost and also the cost

home I went my money and energy spent

With the courage pain inspires, I got a pair of pliers

and with little doubt, I yanked and pulled it out

Now I rest in peace from the pain's release

RIP

I'm very sorry, but judging by these truthful lines, you suffered very much. Please take proper care of yourself. Health is a great treasure.

Thank you for your concern but this was many years ago. I appreciate your review and kind words.

Great read I just took a Leatherman to one of my last teeth two days ago and if not for the dishrag in my mouth, I would have surely waken the dead. I really enjoy your poems. Merry Christmas 🎄

Thank you so much for digging up this older one. It was one of those that I did as a laugh on the past.
