Mingle Hells (A Christmas Song for the Socially Awkward Depressive)

AuburnScribbler

V1

Masking all my woes,

In a one mind cloudy day,

Lower the shield I go,

Crying at my fate,

Lols on beauties sing,

Quaking merits fight,

Not much fun to abide and swim,

I’m fading every night…

Chorus

Mingle hells, mingle hells,

Mingle all twelve days,

It’s not much fun, to confide,

In a one mind cloudy day, hey,

Mingle hells, mingle hells,

Mingle all twelve days,

It’s not much fun, to confide,

With a one mind cloudy day!

V2

Dismay all this snow,

Think what I’ve left behind,

Old Nick begins to talk,

He’s always by my side,

Rudolph begins to stare,

Right into my soul,

Telling me, “if I don’t care

I’ll burn upon hot coals…”

V3

The cold begins to grow,

Within me I do swell,

Reaping what I sow,

I belong in hell,

As Krampus has my name,

The hearth is not for me,

Each of you, a warming flame,

One happy family…

V4

My tears are icicles,

Stupidly I’ve made,

You extend your arm,

To take me from the shade,

Not Satan, but Santa,

Fills my heart some more,

I’m a small talk phantom,

So this is still the score…

  • Comment from author about the poem: This one I suppose, is the start of my "Noel Notes" for this year. Obviously this is a parody song inspired by "Jingle Bells", but has a much more sorrowful tone. Christmas is not for everyone, and as a general fact, certain people are not for everyone either. But, (you would hope deep down) there is a bigger and greater sense of community, within our species as a whole. A lack of empathy and communication, or an over-communication in a bullying tone, can lead certain people to think that they are ousted from society. Thus, the result is them having a feeling of worthlessness, without actually having done anything wrong. So "Mingle Hells" is a song for all those who will be spending Christmas alone, and to all the unfortunately placed socially awkward depressives, you find seemingly forced to attend parties. In order to bring some joy, in this particular tale, our "misfit in the gathering" builds up some self-worth, and courage, to attempt to enjoy themself within the collective. The picture accompanying this song, is a concept photograph: [105/365] Nobody Should Have to Spend Christmas Alone, by Handy Andy Pandy of Flickr, which I thought very apt. I hope that you enjoy singing along to this, to all those that will be alone this Christmas, I respect whatever reasons you have for doing so, but of course, if in thought, your circumstances are "easily changeable", you do have a choice in painting a smile on your face, in joining in. Of course, when you decide to do so, in your own time. Hope you have a good Yuletide, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.

    Monkeys eating like pigs ,
I kill the king on the cheese board.

Thanks for the read and for your intriguing comment Darkfragrance.

I imagine the words in your above comment, to feature in a prog-metal song about Marks and Spencer (a well known upmarket food store, if you live outside the UK my friend.)

I hope that all is well.
