Tune: Veni Emmanuel
('O come, O come, Emmanuel')
Luke 21 v.25-28
**********
Jesus taught of His second coming
What signs and wonders it would bring
Signs in the sun, and stars, and moon
In God's timing it shall be soon
Prepare, prepare, and be ready
Welcome His return and Him see
And upon earth nations distressed
With perplexity, not at rest
Sea and waves roaring, unsettled
Though God's plans they shall not be stalled
You who have laboured long and toiled
End-time events shall not be foiled
And people's hearts failing them for
Fear, and for expectation sure
Of those things which to earth shall come
Before the Lord take His people home
Powers of heaven shall be shaken
When He appears before all men
They all shall see Him, Son of man
Come in a cloud, to dight no ban
With power and great glory, so
Unmistakeable, all show know
When these things begin to pass, your
Redemption draws near evermore

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.8.8.8.8.8. I have changed the Refrain of the last two lines of each verse of the hymn, with two different lines in each verse.

Beautiful.
Thanks T.
Good one Orchi but as you know I don't believe it as it is the farce of organised religion.
Andy
Thanks Gold.
You should have refrained & been more restrained ..
Thanks N. My refraining went out of the window.
Fido's become alliterative too - he says 'Ruff Ruff' (all the R's) - or even 'Woof, Woof' (all the W's). The men in white coats will be here for me soon!
